Eyelid lift, or blepharoplasty, is a procedure to remove skin excess and bags around the eyelids. The procedure uses incisions placed in the upper lid crease or just below the lower lid lash line to treat skin excess and bulging fat around the eyes. The procedure is sometimes performed for medical reasons when patients have excess skin blocking their upper visual field.

Botox, or botulinum toxin, is an injectable treatment used to relax from lines to the forehead and around the eyes. We use either Botox or Dysport, which have identical mechanisms of action. Both are neurotoxins, which prevent unwanted muscle action involved with frown lines or crow's feet around the eyes.

Tissue expansion usually involves an implant which is gradually filled with saline to slowly stretch the skin and expand the dermis. Tissue expansion works by a principle called stress relaxation which means that, over time, the dermis expands in such a way as to reduce the tension on the skin. When the tissue expander is removed, the skin retains much of the excess that developed as a result of stretching over six or more weeks. Although the dermis thins during the stretching process, a vascularized capsule forms around the implant which helps support the overlying skin.
