A hernia develops when the muscular layers of the abdominal wall weaken, resulting in a bulge or tear. This allows a small sac containing tissue, and frequently intestine, to protrude through the opening in the muscles of the abdominal wall. The inner lining of the abdominal cavity, called the peritoneum, protrudes to form the sac.

Go someplace else. I need surgery and this office has canceled my appointment 2 weeks in a row acts like it's no big deal cause it's not to them they don't care that your missing work not to mention I'm not coming in for the sniffles I need a major surgery. They are rude and don't not care to even make you any other accommodations to see another provider. Im having my referral sent to UC Health instead. I will never use Centura again.

Can't say how pleased I was with my care yesterday with the staff, nurses and Drs here when I had my gallbladder removed. Kindest and caring group of professionals I've come across. I w a s nervous for the operation but they put my mind at ease. They answered all my questions and then some. I felt my health and safety was thir #1 goal and it showed. The surgy team is top notch and really warm and kind. Over all great experience. Would highly recommend.

Had to have hip surgery twice from this place it got infected with a bad staff infection right after the opperation "some how". and on top of that my knee is fractured and am having bad pain and they are not doing much to help me with that. They won't let me leave and won't help me with my pain and I believe that is b.s. and I am not happy that some of the staff want me to be in Pain I get two weak pills every four hours and it helps but not enough.

I should not have to be uncomfortable and in a lot of pain while I have to stay here in this hospital for almost a week I would leave if they would let me. I don't understand it's not that hard to help somebody in pain especially if you have the knowledge to do so. My doctor is doctor wessel and I would not recommend him.

While my experiences certainly haven't been as bad as others here, these folks have had my file for weeks. I called last week (1/16/2020 and 1/17/2020) but no mater what extension I choose I was always sent to voicemail. I finally left a voicemail which did not get returned until today (1/22/2020) where I was invited to call the number back if I wished. That's it. No update. No appointment. Just 'call us back if you want.' Poor way to treat sick people, and I would be ashamed to be a part of it. Where are your ethics?

Dr. Hamilton did surgeries on both of my parents for different reasons and a year apart. Both experiences were very good. He is knowledgeable, skillful, and approachable. He was willing to answer all questions and explained things fully. He went above and beyond what I have experienced from other doctors. His staff was also dedicated and helpful. I would recommend him 100%. I cannot comment on other doctors in that group. Office staff was always polite.

Dr. Delano is exceptional. He went over all of my medical records before my first appointment so he was able to share and discuss everything with me. He drew diagrams and answered the list of questions I had brought with me. He took his time and I never felt rushed. I consulted with two surgeons and chose Dr. Delano because I felt I could trust him.

I also chose him because he does robotic laparoscopic surgeries. I like the fact that his office is in the hospital. My surgery was successful. In addition, everyone I encountered in his office is caring, professional and friendly.

This is the worst hospital and surgical team I have ever been to in my life. I even wrote an extremely bad review on the ER on google about an experience I had. On this day (12/31/18) that I visited the hospital all the nurses on an average is rated as fair because some were nice and some were rude. The Doctor (Dr. Allen Tanner) was by far the worst surgeon I have ever had in my life.

The doctor seemed like he didn't want to be there and wanted to rush through the patients as fast as possible with limited facetime. I seen the doctor for less than 5 minutes before the surgery and didn't see him during or afterwards. I didn't know anything about how the surgery went or anything because the doctor didn't have anything in the checkout forms and didn't see me afterwards.

The check out forms were a complete joke! Check out forms didn't include any information about the surgery, care after the surgery, or limitations. In fact the doctor put on the check out that I had no limitations, which is a bunch of BS. Him stating I had no limitations practically told my job that I could return right after checkout. Luckily my job knew I couldn't return for a least 4 weeks after the surgery.

If I returned to work like the doctor stated I would have been sent to the ER due to basic complications of surgery that REQUIRES a recovery time frame with limitations. After my check out I experienced complications and told the doctors nurse over the phone twice (1/3/19 & 1/11/19) and she ignored it like I didn't say anything. Then she jumped right into telling me that I need to come into the office to pay $20 (paid on 1/3/19) just for them to fill out short term disability leave that I had the surgery.

So I called my nurse through my insurance program and she provided instructions on what to do with my complications. The doctor prescribed me opioid for pain relief, which I didn't know until I started experiencing extreme side affects from. The number 1 thing the medication states is if you have any breathing conditions to let the doctor know because this medicine causes respiratory distress.

Even knowing that I have really bad breathing and allergy issues they still prescribed this to me. I ended up having extreme breathing issues, extreme chest pain, extreme pain in several other around, itching, etc. As my nurse suggested from my insurance provider stated to stop taking the medication and I started to slowly feel better. However, where my surgery is located it ended up getting infected and it is open because the doctor didn't close it properly.

I am not happy with this facility at all and I will never come back here after the checkup with the surgeon. I will report this same issue to my doctor that diagnosised me and she might need to redo the surgery with a different surgeon. I have now had my follow-up (1/14/19) 2 weeks later from this surgery and i stand 100% behind my review that this place is the absolute worst place to go.

I reported during this appointment once again that I was having issues with the surgery and he refused to address any of this issues. He handed me the laboratory notes from the surgery (which I still didn't know anything about) and sent me home. I had two calls (1/15/19 & 1/18/19) after this telling the nurse once again that I was experiencing issues and she shrugged it off and stated to go speak with the doctor that sent the referral over.

Then she refused to fill out my short term disability forms to include my recovery even though it was almost a week after this surgery checkup. So my work expected me back to work the same day I had the checkup because of this nurse, which was over a week ago. I ended up going to UCHEALTH emergency care center today (1/22/19) because I trust them more than I trust Penrose.

The doctor seen me and did a wound check. during this check she discovered that my body was rejecting the stitches and pushing them out, which was causing me severe pain in area.

October of 2018 I was referred to them by my medical doctor for varicose vein surgery. My leg causes me a great deal of pain. I went and had my ultrasound done. ( The man that did that was extremely pleasant and very informational. He was about the only one that done his job.) I was required to see the Doctor 2 weeks later. Made the appointment and went to the appointment to set up a time for surgery. Met Dr. Con. he was also pleasant but I was informed at that time they were not doing surgeries as they were moving offices and needed to call back at the end of the month to schedule for December.

When I called back in December I was informed to call back after the first of the year as they still were not seeing or performing the procedure I needed. I called back at the 1st of the year and they told me it would be another 6 months or longer. I CANNOT WAIT THAT LONG, I AM IN PAIN PEOPLE! So I requested a new referral to start all over with another doctor and they have told both my husband and myself that they have sent requests to have my medical records sent over with nothing in response.

My husband called Surgical associates last week because it once again has been 4 weeks and havent heard anything from anyone and they told him that I need to come in and sign a paper before they can release my medical records? But I thought nobody has contacted or requested them? Shouldnt they just have said that 4 weeks ago? I have been now waiting 5 months to have this procedure done and from the first visit in October they should have said they werent accepting new patients instead of dangling me along. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERIVICE I HAVE EVER HAD BY ANY MEDICAL PROFESSION.EVER! If I could give zero stars I would. Absolutley insane.

If only I could give them 0 stars. I was referred to them from my former doctors office. They have had my file for 4 weeks now, insisting that I would be getting a call soon because the doctors need to look over my file first. That never happened. I called today to see what was holding them up, only to be told that they are too busy to take new patients at this time.

So 4 weeks and nobody even looked at my file. 4 weeks I've been in pain waiting for them to call me. 4 weeks that I could have spent looking for a new doctor that has been wasted on this office. And all I get from the manager of the office is "oh, sorry." Wow. great customer service. Don't go here. They don't give a damn about their patients, or anyone else for that matter. Thanks for wasting my time while I walk around in pain.
