Rhinoplasty, commonly referred to as a "nose job, " is one of the most commonly performed facial surgeries. In addition to the procedure being performed for aesthetic improvement, a rhinoplasty may also be performed to improve breathing problems caused by functional nasal issues and sinus disease. The term "facelift" is used to describe a variety of procedures that are performed to enhance the appearance of the neck, jawline, and cheeks. Many factors determine how a patient ages and how their facial features change over time.

Our philosophy is simple- to provide the utmost highly skilled medical and surgical care which is individualized for each and every patient.
From an early age, Alicia had been fascinated by aesthetics and cosmetic surgery. Alicia nurtured this interest through extensive training in facial aesthetics and dermatology. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing which has allowed her the opportunity to perform a wide variety of minimally invasive techniques, that complement the work of Dr. John D. Rachel and assist those wanting a non-surgical approach to self-improvement.
Look and feel good at any age. Education, training, and experience is essential when choosing a surgeon. MetropolitanMD boasts one of the most established and respected cosmetic surgery centers with real cosmetic surgeons in the Chicago land area. Your Face Procedures will be performed in Dr. John D. Rachel's surgery center located in North Shore.
The facelift, or rhytidectomy, is the third most common facial plastic surgery performed in the United States. As we age, crow's feet become visible near our eyes. The near-invisible lines on the forehead become prominent, and the jawline sags. Some people experience the emergence of a "second chin."

Guy! DO NOT go here for hair restoration! I went to them when they were known as Maxim Hair restoration but now it seems they have changed their name -MetropolitanMD-in light of my original review. Initially, when I posted on yelp it had been 2 years since my operation and now it's been over 3 years and STILL my hair just looks plain awful. I'll spare you new details and repost my original review for anyone considering these con artists.

From 12/11/2018- it's been 2 years since my operation of 2k grafts- which WASN'T even performed by the doctor(Dr. Rachel) rather it was done by 3 outsourced technicians with ZERO medical credentials-thus, the final results look extremely poor! And I'm not just saying this because I didn't turn out to look like Brad Pitt, whom they use as a reference.

Since day 1 of the operation, post surgery, I noticed very sparse placement of the hairs which was corroborated by 4 of my friends that very day. However, I was assured by the office manager-Karen- that the areas were heavily packed. Soon after, I explained to her my concerns but she continued to brush me off with the typical medical office legal liability script telling me that my skin was the issue preventing certain growth, which was complete bullshit.

I even sought out an opinion from a dermatologist who in fact indicated that my skin is in great health and has nothing to do with my "strange hairline, ".! Even the dermatologist said my hairline was strange! Anyways, don't be fooled by the cheap price as it will be cheap work. Spend a little extra and go somewhere else because this place will take your money-8k from me!- and then blame YOU for unsuccessful results, as they did with me, as well as, a colleague of mine who also went to them for hair restoration. Complete WASTE of money. Spare yourselves the money and pain and find a real professional!

Been going here for 10+ years. Dr. rachel discovered a skin cancer issue that was easily resolved before it became a bigger problem when other doctors wanted to wait & watch it. Every single person you come across in his office is amazing. It is a rare find, a small town feel with care that is second to none. Every team member seems truly happy to be there. Lucky to have found their team!

The place is quiet and you don't feel pressured into obtaining a procedure. Dr. Rachel took the time to answer any and all my questions and even gave me a reasonable quote. I signed up and had a the procedure the next day. Everything went flawless. The staff were amazing and I felt like I got the results I wanted. My pain level is between a 1 and a 0. Best doc ever!

I made an appointment for a consultation through American Lipo Centers, a website I found through Google. I called their 877 call center phone number. A call center representative made an appointment for me with Dr. John Rachel at Metropolitan MD on Wednesday, November 16th at 1:15 PM. I received a confirmation email stating my appointment was made at 2350 Ravine Way in Glenview, IL, Suite 400.

I was satisfied. I did notice, however, that attached in the email was not the office's direct phone number, but a 312 phone number instead. I shrugged it off. Today, I call Dr. Rachel's practice to confirm my 1:15 PM appointment. I am told several times my appointment doesn't exist. They claim Dr. Rachel has no association with American Lipo Centers.

I then call American Lipo Centers at their 877 number to relay this information. The call center employee insists I do have an appointment. She says there are TWO separate practices at the same address on Ravine Way in the same suite. I tell her that this logically makes no sense. She says she cannot help me any further, and that Dr. Rachel's "American Lipo Centers" practice isn't open until 1:15, but their phone number is 312-985-0055.

I call the 312 phone number. The SAME call center representative answers. At this point, I am infuriated. I call Dr. Rachel's office back at their 847 number. The receptionist asks for the call center's phone number to clarify what exactly is going on. I get a call back a few moments later from Dr. Rachel's office saying my appointment does exist, but with an outside representative named Karen who works for American Lipo Centers and is seeing me on Dr. John Rachel's behalf.

I am NOT going to my consultation. This practice has hired a SALESPERSON to do a medical consultation for a surgery that could potentially kill me if done incorrectly. I do not trust this practice because they utilize call centers which they claim are not associated with their doctor, and yet they have sales reps coming into their locations and doing consultations with suckers like me.

This is unethical. I was completely lied to not only by American Lipo Centers, but by Dr. Rachel's practice. Their association with an outside advertising company is unacceptable because I was clearly deceived. How on earth can I trust a doctor that has chosen to advertise his services with a company that lied to me about their affiliation with his practice and provided me the wrong office phone number because they didn't want to expose the truth that they have an OUTSIDE SALES REP come in and perform HIGH PRESSURE SALES CONSULTATIONS. This violates medical standards and human decency. I am appalled and have dodged a bullet in trusting this doctor and his practice entirely.

Recently had liposuction to remove my saddlebags. Day 1 and they were gone! I mean poof gone! I look fabulous already and I can't wait for 4 weeks until I can wear skirts and dresses again. I'm finally in skinny jeans without being embarrassed! His staff is amazing and he is so gentle and calming. Liposuction is not for the weak or faint hearted but it was well worth it. Dr Rachel answered all my questions and made everything a little more bearable. Definitely recommend

Dr John Rachel, is a hidden gem! I cant say enough good things about Dr Rachel, his staff, & my overall experience. I recently had an upper eye lid lift surgery. Even though im a week into my healing process, I cant tell you how many people complimented on how good my eyes look. Dr Rachel listens and addresses all your questions and concern. His bedside manner is above and beyond any Physician I have EVER had experience with. Any procedure you may be thinking of having, Dr Rachel by far can meet all your needs and expectation.

I am extremely picky about doctors, and he seemed top notch! I noticed right away that he is all about his patients and not his ego, and very present/not hurried in the room. He seemed gentle, caring, and competent! He helped my daughter's skin problems go away. No wait to get in, either!

This review is regarding a functional surgery done by Dr. Rachel. Bev is spot on about Dr. Rachel. Working through much fear and hesitation I went through with the surgery. It went as good as it could possibly go and has improved my quality of life significantly. After the surgery Dr. Rachel and the medical staff have always been there to answer any questions or concerns I had and ease my anxiety. I would recommend this practice as my experience has been great!

First let me say that Dr. Lack has retired and the reviews here on Yelp that mention him are pretty much irrelevant for that reason. It's too bad that they are bringing down the overall rating of this practice. Dr. Rachel has taken over the practice and has brought Dr. Angie Taras in to join them recently. I have met Dr. Taras - she couldn't be more friendly and still be professional.

But this review is for Dr. Rachel who did a cosmetic procedure on me last year. I found him to be a friendly, low-key sweetheart of a guy who treats you with respect, is patient, competent, and takes the time to listen as well as explain. I was happy with the results and would recommend him to anyone considering having some "work" done. They offer free consultations, too which many practices don't offer.

People, there are plenty of dermatologists and plastic surgeon offices in Chicagoland and I advise you to try any of them besides this one. I have been going to a dermatologist for years for cystic acne and cosmetic procedures. I found a derm here, that I am not thrilled with, but when I saw a Groupon special for Juvederm I decided to test this office out.

I was able to schedule an appointment pretty quickly and I arrived that day on time. I waited 95 minutes after my appointment time before I saw the doctor. 95 minutes! While I was waiting I remember thinking to myself that I could never imagine getting plastic surgery in a place that looked like that. It just didn't seem comforting to me and the equipment looked older.

I don't know, it's just what I thought. It was a feeling. And what a rude man Dr. Lack is. He asked me where I wanted the injection. I told him I wanted it in a smile line. He said it would be broken down there too quickly, that's fine. I attempted to get a suggestion as to where else to have it injected. Then Dr. Lacking (yep) proceeded to tell me the same thing I overheard him tell another patient in the room next to me.

Now maybe we both had undefined cheekbones and I am nuts but I never have had any concern about my cheekbones and it seemed to me that the other patient and I did not have very much in common facial-structual-wise (I saw her in the waiting room, she's Asian and I am Caucasian and if you saw the two of us side-by-side you would agree, trust me). Also, I am no doctor but I am only 32, does he really want me to start that kind of a routine at 32?

I have tiny lips Doc, suggest that, get me taken care of and on my way. When I seemed hesitant about getting Juvederm injections in my cheeks he rudely told me I didn't seem to know what I wanted and I should either reschedule or get a refund. Now, why the heck did this dumb doctor offer a Groupon if he wasn't trying to get new patients?

Why would he be so rude and unhelpful to one of the purchasers? Why offer a Groupon when you are going to offer buyers such a crappy experience? At this point I was super uncomfortable and didn't want this doctor injecting anything in my face. There was no way I could trust a man who obviously had no regard for me as a visiting and potential new patient.

I left and had no idea how I could go back there and wait 90+ minutes and put faith in this man to alter my appearance. But I had a $275 Groupon that I bought weeks ago so now what was I going to do? Well, Groupon graciously refunded my money after I told them my experience. Thankfully I didn't have to waster $275, because I would have eaten that cost rather then deal with that office again.

I have read some other reviews and let me say, the bad ones, I believe. I am at some doctor at least 1-2 times a month. I have acne, varicose veins, other health issues and I have a 7 year old. I go to doctors for health reasons and cosmetic procedures. I know the difference between a good doctor's experience and a bad one. This might have been my worst one actually.

This guy doesn't give a lick. Also, I don't believe some of the good reviews of this doctor either. Read the ones on Yahoo, they are unspecific and do not seem like they are from an actual patient. Save yourself the worry, hassle, and annoyance and pick a different doctor, any different doctor.

I highly recommend Dr. Lak for Botox and Juvaderm! There is a reason he speaks all over the world.he is that good. He knows how to treat with injectables that get rid of the lines and yet maintain natural movement! I highly recommend this practice! Nothing is worse than the too much work done look.

I saw Dr. Lack as a referral from my gynecologist. I can only speak to his dermatologist treatments as I wasn't there for any of the cosmetic offerings. He was able to suggest treatment pathways for my pelvic pain (which weren't all run by him, so not in it for the $), and got my eczema under control in a matter of weeks (at that point it was on my face, fingers, and feet).

I had reacted badly to some prescription steroid creams in the past, so when the pharmacy wanted to give me the same refill, Dr. Lack called and spoke with them directly to make sure I didn't get the excipient (non-active ingredient) I was reacting badly to. The only complaint I have is they always seem to be running late, even at 9:00 AM. I always plan to be there at least an hour, even for a checkup.

They put me in a waiting room right away, but then I wait.and wait. If you have skin (or other issues - check the website), the staff is knowledgeable and courteous, but expect to wait. Oh, and the woman who calls to confirm appointments and sometimes works the desk is named Isis. It makes me feel like I'm in some kind of soap opera universe :)
