Services
Since 1985, Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery has upheld a commitment of oral surgery excellence to our patients and our community. Our highly experienced doctors and surgical staff diagnoses and treats the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, from dental implants and wisdom teeth removal to facial trauma.
A dental implant is a healthy tooth replacement solution that replaces the entire tooth, including the root. Implants can restore your smile by providing a secure foundation for one tooth replacement, many teeth, or even an entire arch of teeth through full-arch restoration. If you have one or more missing teeth, even if you've been missing them for a long time, we encourage you to contact one of our offices in Avon, Glastonbury, or Enfield to schedule a consultation. Our highly skilled oral surgeons, Dr. Lieblich, Dr. Fletcher, Dr. Gill, and Dr. Ambrogio, will review your tooth replacement options and create a treatment plan tailored just for you.
Wisdom teeth, also called third molars, often do not have enough space to grow into the mouth without causing oral health problems. To avoid issues such as infection, dental crowding, pain, cysts, and more, dentists and oral surgeons recommend early removal. Third molars usually emerge between the ages of 17 and 25 and are the final molars to grow in.
If you require replacements for an entire upper or lower arch of teeth, you may be a candidate for a revolutionary treatment called the All-on-4 treatment concept. Developed by Nobel Biocare, this treatment involves using four dental implant posts to support a fixed denture. This procedure frees you from the inconvenience of other solutions such as traditional dentures, which tend to slip out of place and are often not as comfortable as implant-based tooth restorations.Your new full-arch of teeth will be fixed in place, allowing you to enjoy eating the foods you like, speaking clearly and confidently, and smiling with joy.

The doctor was okay. and the dental implant procedure went okay, but the office staff are extremely inefficient and prone to making mistakes. I was charged for services for which I shouldn't have been charged, and office staff were virtually impossibile to contact when I endeavored to rectify problems wih my bill. They say they'll return your call, but they don't, or they say they're always in meetings and can't get back to you until days later.

Or they say the only person who can help you is on vacation. They also hand you off to different people who have no grasp of the problem, so you have to start from scratch in explaining your issue. It's bad enough having to deal with a dental problem and the absolutely outrageous fee associated with said bill, but then come to find you also have to deal with a sub par office staff. Grrr!

I just finished reading other people's reviews here and noticed office responses were boilerplate. This just goes to show they only pay lip service to customer complaints. No personalized touch.

It took over 5 phone calls over months to get our refund. The billing department ignores the patient. When my husband called last Fall, he was told a Supervisor would call him. No one did. Repeated calls just got us nowhere. When my husband went for a follow up visit, Dr. Ambrogio's assistant called the billing department on our behalf, they ignored her, too.

I made several calls with no results. (It is not appropriate to say to a customer, "who told you you were due a refund?") The refund was evident by the statement they provided! It was my intention to get the billing office to do their job and stop stalling. Sadly it took the initial negative review to get them to pay attention. First rule of Customer Service don't make a promise you can't keep.

Second rule of Customer Service document the file so anyone looking in the file knows what needs to be done and follow up to see the issue is resolved. I see another reviewer also had issues with the billing department so their Customer Service skills need serious updating. That being said, Dr. Ambrogio is the most competent, caring and excellent surgeon you will ever find.

Never did i ever think having a 7 year old little girls tooth out would be so wonderful. Every single one of the many staff members in the room for her anesthesia, etc were amazing. They took me out for five min during the actual procedure and afterward made my little girl waking up etc so peaceful. They were nice. Sweet. Knew what to do for a little person. The doctor was flawless. There's no place to go but here for oral surgery procedures. A+++++

I had a similar issue to another patient who gave a 1 star review. I was informed that my insurance was accepted but never told it would be out-of-network. I paid a hefty amount the day of the procedure. The person at front desk told me they didn't know how much my insurance would cover but that I would receive a refund if I overpaid (mind you I made the appointment a month in advance).

Then received a bill in the mail 4 months later for an even higher amount because my out-of-network benefits were basically non-existent. If I had known this office was not in network I would not have gone through with the visit. However, I must give credit to the very kind staff who performed the extractions and who patiently answered my questions post-procedure.

Amazing people running a great practice. From the front desk staff to the nurses and the doctors, you feel like part of the family from the first phone call. Procedure was explained well and was executed with efficiency and compassion. Take home care was explained well and followed up with well written orders in case you forget. Follow up phone calls just to check in with the patient really show their level of care. Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery is an a safe, clean, and caring facility that I would bring myself or anyone in my care to again.

Question One: OK, when's the last time you had a tooth extracted? That was fun wasn't it? Question Two: OK, when was the last time you had two teeth extracted? Today, I can answer that question with "this morning". I had two chompers that my regular dentist said would be problematic for him to yank, so he referred me to the Big Boys at Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery.

They treated me very well. I had originally made an appointment to have this done in March 2020, but that nasty Coronavirus cancelled that appointment for me. I needed a consult first, and that took place about a month ago. That's when I met the extraordinary Doctor Daniel Gill, he looked at my X-rays, offered me three different anesthesia options, explained the whole upcoming process, and made me feel like I had a real voice in what we were going to do.

He has terrific communication skills. Today's procedure again showcased Dr. Gill's customer service and medical skill. He explained every little thing he was doing as if he was a play-by-play announcer - "you'll feel a little pinch, feel some pressure, hear some crunching", etc. He was assisted by two helpers -Erica and someone whose name escapes me.

They were both fabulous. When the deed was done, I can honestly say it wasn't bad at all. So, my experience in the dentist chair was excellent. I left with a comprehensive list of follow-up care instructions, two packs of gauze, and an Rx for pain management. Thank you, Dr. Gill and team -you were great.

Dr. Mark Fletcher was very busy with our family this year, as my wife needed a dental implant and both my sons needed wisdom teeth extracted. They were all great experience all around: the office is professional, warm and friendly, the surgeries went extremely well, and the recovery time was brief. We obviously did our homework selecting an Oral Maxillofacial surgeon, and glad we chose Dr. Mark Fletcher.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Dr Gill and his staff were very professional and caring! Both of my children (15 and 17) had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at the same time, with back to back appointments. Dr Gill explained everything and was very patient. His staff stayed w one of my children the whole time after their procedure, while the other one went next. I'm extremely happy that I found this office. I would recommend them to anyone that asks! Thank you Dr Gill and staff. I appreciate everything you did for my children! You are all amazing!

Dr Gill did my wisdom tooth surgery in 2018 and he did such an amazing job, not even any swelling and pain whatsoever. He was very good at explaining the procedure and helping me feel less nervous. Highly recommend him to anyone getting their wisdom teeth out!

Dr. Fletcher and his assistants are excellent in performing a tooth implant on me. I was anxious in the beginning and they made me feel as comfortable as circumstances allowed. Anesthesia was administered locally and there was no pain in the process. Recovery, as they predicted, was quite manageable - salt water rinse, antibiotics, OTC painkillers, etc. Today is day 2 and I am almost back to normal. It will take time for the bone growth process but so far so good. Thank you for the expert care, Dr. Fletcher & Team.

I would like to start off by saying how wonderful the staff is here at Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery. From the amazing Dr. Gill to the RN's Glenna and Jerry with such amazing attitudes, and the wonderful assistants that helped me tremendously, Brenda and Lia. These people went above and beyond for me (especially Lia). I went into the office nervous because I had no idea what the outcome would be and for the first time in my life I actually enjoyed a Dr's visit.

I was greeted was open arms and was very comfortable in this office. To make a long story short if you are looking for a Oral Surgeons office to go to this review should tell you enough, quit reading and call that number below. Thank you everyone at Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery. Best Regards, Matthew Samela

Dr. Gill and the entire staff made my whole dental implant experience very easy. They gave me detailed explanations of everything that was going to happen and answered any questions I had. Everyone was very friendly and easy to talk to. All three of my children have had their wisdom teeth out in this office as well. I would recommend Avon Oral, Facial and Dental Implant Surgery very highly to anyone needing oral surgery.

Dr Lieblich was absolutely amazing. I was beyond terrified for my wisdom teeth removal and couldn't decide the right surgeon for me. As soon as I had my consult here, I knew. From start to finish everyone here made this process a breeze. I had four impacted wisdom teeth, I was out of the office in under an hour and had zero issues or severe pain. They made all of the before and aftercare instructions very clear and had no complications. Thank you so much Dr Lieblich and all the staff!

3 year old Daughter had two teeth pulled and the staff and dentist could not have been better. Highly recommend. Only item I wish I didn't have to do is pay up front since I do not have that type of insurance but I can live with it.

I am incredibly grateful to Dr Fletcher and this practice. I had a double coronectomy on my bottom two wisdom teeth. The surgery went smoothly, healed very well and I am so relieved to have the situation resolved better than I could have hoped for.

For those who are searching for an oral, facial, reconstructive physician I highly recommend Dr. Gill. He has a rare gift of exceptional skill combined with true compassion, kindness and authentic caring. Dr. Gill has always taken time to understand my concerns and cares and has treated me with utmost respect. Dr. Gill is a real treasure! An outstanding physician and I cannot recommend him enough. Love, Love, Love Avon Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. As a former Oral Surgery Assistant and receptionist (22years) in a NYC Park Avenue office, I only have nice things to say about the doctors here. For one- Dr. Fletcher has saved my life. Period! This alone should be enough for a review. For a long time I had a small bump borderline soft/hard palate.

Unlike the previous surgeon Dr Fletcher immediately recommended biopsy, and didn't suggest observing it like my ex boss. "He" my ex boss was not concerned about my health, but about the next paying patient to hop in the chair. My biopsy sample turned out to be cancer, and because of Dr Fletchers quick reaction, concern and care I am healthy, and still around to share my story.

He had me at a local hospital FAST, and made sure all was done correctly the first time. I lost a friend to oral cancer, she and I were diagnosed with oral cancer around the same time, but I am still here she unfortunately lost her battle, so it does matter who you see. In addition to this care, I also had implants and extractions performed in this practice with Dr. Lieblich. Again, I only have nice things to say about the care I received.

The nurses are caring and staff addresses all of your concerns. My future visit will be with Dr. Gill, since my daughter raves about his care, and absolutely LOVES him, she also said if you get to have Jerry as your nurse you double scored. Speaking from experience on the previous comment, insurance companies are very difficult to work with. Most offices need 2-3 employees to spend countless hours on the phone to make the insurance companies pay up. Billing is minor for me, since health always comes first. If you want the best care, this is the place. Top Notch.

I consulted Dr. Fletcher with a badly broken incisor. He examined and xrayed and outlined all my options. Then he recommended and told me in detail why. When I returned for the actual procedure Dr Fletcher extracted the remaining root and installed an implant. I never felt one minute of pain and anxiety. All the staff was attentive and caring. I have been a dental coward all my life. These folks made it easy.

Beware of billing practices and then the run around given by there staff. Before you agree to surgery check your benefits through your insurance company as well as the in-network allowable costs. Do not pay any money upfront until you confirm your out of pocket cost. In a nutshell they quoted a Service Cost-$1900 Stated that my insurance company would only cover $599, so I paid $1423 out of pocket. Dr. Lieblich Office billed Anthem (insurance company) $1922 Because Dr. Lieblich was in network there was a reduction in total cost of $545 making the total cost for procedure $1377.

There would be a deductible I owed of around $350. Anthem Paid Dr. Lieblich $1304.10, leaving me less than $100 owed for the procedure. This was figured out by review of benefit statement and numerous calls to Anthem. I made the first call to Dr. Lieblich's office and spoke to there business manager Deserah (spelling) who stated that my information was false and they only billed for the balance of what was owed between there quote and my payment (1900-1423=$477 balance).

I confirmed with Anthem that the information I had was correct and they sent me a breakdown of the total submission by Dr. Lieblich. I in turn called his office with this new information and talked to Deserah again who after a 5 min hold stated that I was correct but they didn't get paid for the total amount billed. She also stated I had a credit on my account.

I again called my insurance company to find out that she was not honest again about the payment status and that they were indead paid the total amount stated above but in two payments. One paid 5/24/18 and the other 7/6/18. I made a follow up call and requested I be refunded the amount that was overpaid by me. She again stated that I was incorrect and refused to refund me the money that was shown on my account as a credit.

In my situation they billed me and the insurance company and have been overpaid for services in excess of $700. To date there has been no contact directly from his office or no attempt to refund me the overcharge. The procedure itself was great but beware of there billing practices, and be prepared to not receive a refund of over payments for services.

Dr. Gill and staff were amazing! Last year we had a very traumatic and awful experience with another oral surgeon in the area. We had just about the exact same surgery except Dr. Gill was able to do the surgery in one visit and within an hr whereas last years surgery took two unsuccessful visits and finally a hospital type surgery. (I would actually say this surgery was even more difficult as they were removing permanent as well as baby teeth this time)My son was nervous that he would have the same experience. Dr. Gill took away those fears from the beginning!

He explained the options available, described in detail what to expect, and made my son feel at ease. The entire staff worked well with my child and even made the IV experience a breeze for him. I would highly recommend Dr. Gill and his staff for any oral surgery no matter the age. They are terrific with children and took extremely good care of my son. I seriously cannot believe the difference between last year and this year. We went from a terrible experience to a very pleasant one. Thanks Dr. Gill and staff!
